Airbnb · L'Île-Perrot · 2026 rules
Can you rent out your principal residence on Airbnb in L'Île-Perrot, and where is a unit bought for short-term rental allowed? The city's rules, checked against its by-laws on October 19, 2026, the Quebec framework and the purchase price of a house or condo according to Centris.
We found no municipal restriction on renting out a principal residence in L'Île-Perrot; buying a unit to rent it on Airbnb year-round (tourist residence) is possible only in specific zones. To buy, count on $561,500 for a house and $404,500 for a condo at the 2026 median price (Centris). Rules checked on October 19, 2026.

We found no restriction adopted by the city on renting out a principal residence. The new zoning by-law 746 (in force November 14, 2025, compilation of April 21, 2026) does not mention the principal residence establishment: its closed list of additional uses to housing (room rental, foster family, home daycare, office, intergenerational dwelling, additional dwelling, private school) does not name it, and the by-law on permits and certificates 677 does not mention it either. No referendum procedure concerning the principal residence establishment was found; the provincial rule (s. 23 of the Tourist Accommodation Act) applies.
By default, Quebec law prevents a municipal by-law from prohibiting the rental of a principal residence unless it was adopted under the adapted referendum procedure (s. 23). Before counting on it, have the zone of the address confirmed by the planning department: it issues the zoning compliance document required for registration.
A unit that is not your principal residence, rented by the night or the week all year, is a "tourist residence". The law does not protect it: the city decides through its zoning where it is allowed.
The “tourist residence (furnished and equipped for meals)” (use 5834) belongs to subclass C6-01 Accommodation Service, in class c6 Restaurant and Accommodation Services. Based on a reading of the grids in Schedule B, class c6 is checked only in commercial designation zones (C-18, C-25, C-27, C-31, C-34, C-35, C-38 and C-67); in zone C-18, uses 5833 and 5834 are among the specifically excluded uses, and in zone C-34 use 5834 is among the specifically permitted uses.
