Airbnb · Mascouche · 2026 rules
Can you rent out your principal residence on Airbnb in Mascouche, and where is a unit bought for short-term rental allowed? The city's rules, checked against its by-laws on October 19, 2026, the Quebec framework and the purchase price of a house or condo according to Centris.
Renting out your own principal residence short-term is allowed in Mascouche only in some zones; no published rule places the tourist residence, the unit bought to be rented year-round. To buy, count on $615,000 for a house and $370,000 for a condo at the 2026 median price (Centris). Rules checked on October 19, 2026.

The principal residence type tourist accommodation establishment is an accessory use to housing that is prohibited unless approved by council as a conditional use. The eligible zones are described as follows: “Within the urbanization perimeter and in zones RA 603, RA 606, RA 607, RA 609, RA 610, RM 600 and RM 604”. Conditions: not in an accessory dwelling, no other accessory use in the dwelling, no identification. Evaluation criteria: avoid the heart of a residential area and the end of a cul-de-sac, favour proximity to a regional road, a collector road or public transit, discourage concentration on the same street or in the same building.
A unit that is not your principal residence, rented by the night or the week all year, is a "tourist residence". The law does not protect it: the city decides through its zoning where it is allowed.
We found no published municipal rule placing the tourist residence. Zoning by-law 1103 (September 2026 version) does not create any “tourist residence” use class that was identified; only B&Bs (C-4.1) and hotel establishments (hotels, motels, inns, C-4.2) are classified. Status of a unit rented year-round on a short-term basis not confirmed.
Without a zone that allows it, the city cannot issue the zoning compliance document, and without that document there is no registration. That is the first question to ask the planning department, address in hand.
