Renting out your principal residence in Saint-Lambert: allowed, with limits

The complementary use of principal residence tourist accommodation is authorized throughout the territory, subject to conditions: rental of at least 3 and at most 30 consecutive days for the same group; rental of the entire dwelling without its usual residents limited to 60 days per calendar year; accommodation in the main building only (not in an accessory building); outdoor fireplaces prohibited for guests.

Buying to rent year-round in Saint-Lambert: only in some zones

A unit that is not your principal residence, rented by the night or the week all year, is a "tourist residence". The law does not protect it: the city decides through its zoning where it is allowed.

The tourist residence (class C-3 of the commercial group) is a principal use in which the dwelling is available for rental only, without residential occupancy. According to a reading of the use grids in the consolidation of November 25, 2025, it is checked only in zones CA-1, MI-1, MI-2, MI-7 and MI-8.
