Airbnb · Sainte-Adèle · 2026 rules
Can you rent out your principal residence on Airbnb in Sainte-Adèle, and where is a unit bought for short-term rental allowed? The city's rules, checked against its by-laws on October 19, 2026, the Quebec framework and the purchase price of a house or condo according to Centris.
Renting out your own principal residence short-term is allowed in Sainte-Adèle only in some zones; buying a unit to rent it on Airbnb year-round (tourist residence) is possible only in specific zones. To buy, count on $552,500 for a house and $360,000 for a condo at the 2026 median price (Centris). Rules checked on October 19, 2026.

Since by-law 1314-2021-Z-7 (in force on February 17, 2023), the zoning by-law specifies that the « résidence de tourisme » (tourist residence) includes the principal residence establishment: renting your principal residence for 31 days or less is therefore permitted only where the tourist residence use (C03-01) is authorized, that is, in the same zones as the tourist residence.
A unit that is not your principal residence, rented by the night or the week all year, is a "tourist residence". The law does not protect it: the city decides through its zoning where it is allowed.
The tourist residence (C03-01-01: house, apartment or cottage, 31 days or less) is part of the Accommodation class (C-03). According to the consolidation of October 3, 2025, it is specifically authorized in zone T3.2-001, and class C-03 is authorized in the environment types T3.4, T5.1, T5.3, ZC.2 and ZC.3; it is expressly prohibited in zones T2.2-001, ZC.1-001, ZC.1-002, ZC.1-003 and ZC.1-007. Elsewhere, class C-03 is not authorized.
