Airbnb · Vaudreuil-Dorion · 2026 rules
Can you rent out your principal residence on Airbnb in Vaudreuil-Dorion, and where is a unit bought for short-term rental allowed? The city's rules, checked against its by-laws on October 19, 2026, the Quebec framework and the purchase price of a house or condo according to Centris.
Renting out your own principal residence short-term is allowed in Vaudreuil-Dorion, but with limits; no published rule places the tourist residence, the unit bought to be rented year-round. To buy, count on $605,000 for a house and $385,000 for a condo at the 2026 median price (Centris). Rules checked on October 19, 2026.

The new zoning by-law 1872 (in force November 12, 2025) authorizes the “tourist accommodation site in a principal residence (ERP)” in all zones, without mention in the grid, unless specifically excluded in the use and standards grid. A municipal certificate of authorization is required, valid for at most 2 years and to be renewed.
A unit that is not your principal residence, rented by the night or the week all year, is a "tourist residence". The law does not protect it: the city decides through its zoning where it is allowed.
We found no published municipal rule placing the tourist residence. By-law 1872 classifies uses according to a “use classification grid” (table 4.2) whose content is not legible in the PDF consulted; the zones where tourist residences are permitted could not be confirmed. Under the former by-law 1275, the City placed any rental of less than 31 days (tourist residence or principal residence establishment) in the Commerce group, and prohibited it in single-family zones (2022 note, by-law replaced).
Without a zone that allows it, the city cannot issue the zoning compliance document, and without that document there is no registration. That is the first question to ask the planning department, address in hand.
