Days on market · Lachine · Centris 2016-2026
The number of days it takes to sell in Lachine, year by year since 2016, house and condo, set against all of Montreal: the decade's four markets, the slowest and fastest years, and what today's delay changes for a seller or a buyer in the sector. Centris figures, not estimates.
In Lachine, a house sells in 29 days at the median in 2026 (January to September) and a condo in 40 days: houses sell more slowly than in most of the 32 boroughs and sectors tracked (rank 30 of 32, median 18 days), but far faster than in 2016 (57 days). Condos take 11 more days than houses, as in 30 of the 32 units where both are tracked. Against all of Montreal (20 days for a house), the borough sells 9 days more slowly. Closed sales on Centris from 2016 to September 2026 in the borough of Lachine: 1,680 houses and 3,848 condos. "n/a": category not published or year without a delay. When a year has few sales, its median swings a lot.

At 29 days, Lachine sits in the middle of the boroughs and sectors tracked: fast enough for the seller to keep the upper hand, slow enough for a buyer to visit twice. The day-one price matters, but a well-presented house finds a buyer without a systematic bidding war. Condos, for their part, take 40 days: condo buyers have more choice in Lachine, compare fees and buildings, and negotiate more than house buyers. Comparing the borough with all of Montreal avoids a common mistake: the city's delay (20 days) is not your street's.
Two series from the same Centris database with the same settings: Single-family then Condominium category, closed sales in the borough of Lachine (borough or sector as Centris defines it), median days on market and number of sales by year, with 2026 ending in September. The clock runs from the listing going live to the accepted offer; a property withdrawn and relisted starts again at zero. The whole city, for comparison, is on days on market in Montreal. A category is published only if it has at least 5 sales in 2026 and 30 in ten years.
