Year built is not everything: a 1975 house renovated top to bottom can be worth more than a 2005 house never maintained, and eras also differ by size, lot and neighbourhood. For a buyer in Longueuil, an older house is often the cheapest way into the market: budget for a pre-purchase inspection and the condition of the major components (roof, foundation, windows, electrical, plumbing, insulation). For a seller, documented renovations (invoices, permits) count as much as the year on the listing. A broker on the team compares your house with sales of the same era in your area.
Median sale price (half of sales above, half below) of single-family houses sold on Centris in Longueuil, by year sold, for each construction era declared on the listing. The brackets are fixed: "2010 and later" groups houses 0 to 6 years old in 2016 and 0 to 16 years old in 2026. Fewer than 10 sales in a year: median left blank (n/a). 2026 runs from January to September. A house with no declared year built falls in no bracket but counts in "all houses".
