Neighbourhood guide · Candiac
What it is like to live in Candiac day to day: neighbourhoods, access, parks, schools and prices, written by a team that sells there all year, in English.
Candiac was designed before it was built: demanding planning bylaws, curving streets, parks drawn into the plan and consistent architecture. It is a city of higher-income families, with the South Shore's most expensive sector in the APCIQ barometer ($820,000 median with La Prairie), and a market where buyers compare for a long time. In Q2 2026, the median single-family home in the Candiac and La Prairie sector sold for $820,000 in 39 days (APCIQ).

The original neighbourhoods, near the station and Route 132, have mature lots; recent sectors toward Highway 30 and Square Candiac have the newest housing and the condos; prestige homes cluster in a few streets well known to local buyers.
The Candiac exo station (Candiac line) reaches Central Station; Highways 15 and 30 frame the city; the Champlain Bridge is about twenty kilometres away. Local transit is provided by exo.
Parks and bike paths are built into every neighbourhood from the plan; the riverfront is next door in La Prairie; Square Candiac groups shops and services.
French network: Centre de services scolaire des Grandes-Seigneuries; English: Riverside. Local health services are on site or in La Prairie; the referral hospital is in Châteauguay (Anna-Laberge) or Longueuil depending on the sector.
