Airbnb · Mirabel · 2026 rules
Can you rent out your principal residence on Airbnb in Mirabel, and where is a unit bought for short-term rental allowed? The city's rules, checked against its by-laws on October 19, 2026, the Quebec framework and the purchase price of a house or condo according to Centris.
Renting out your own principal residence short-term is allowed in Mirabel, but with limits; buying a unit to rent it on Airbnb year-round (tourist residence) is possible only in specific zones. To buy, count on $650,000 for a house and $449,900 for a condo at the 2026 median price (Centris). Rules checked on October 19, 2026.

Short-term rental of a principal residence (principal residence establishment) is permitted as a complementary use in all zones, unless a zone's table of specific provisions expressly prohibits it; this is the case for zone C 7-67 (Saint-Janvier sector) since by-law U-2589, in force on November 15, 2023. To obtain the compliance notice, you must prove that the property is your principal residence.
A unit that is not your principal residence, rented by the night or the week all year, is a "tourist residence". The law does not protect it: the city decides through its zoning where it is allowed.
Since October 2023, renting for less than 31 days a residence that is not the principal residence is treated as the commercial use C3-01-07 « Habitation locative commerciale » (commercial rental housing) and is permitted only in zones that authorize class C3 « Hébergement » (accommodation), subclass C3-01 « Service d'hébergement moyen » (medium accommodation service) or use C3-01-07.
