The lettered sectors are Brossard's mental map: street names start with the sector's letter (A, B, C, up to the newer sectors), so an address can be placed at a glance. The oldest sectors, near Route 132 and Taschereau Boulevard, have the largest lots; sectors toward Highway 30 have the newest housing; Solar Uniquartier, around Du Quartier station, is the hub of new condos.
The REM links Brossard to downtown Montreal from the Brossard, Du Quartier and Panama stations, with park-and-ride lots. Highways 10 and 30 cross the territory, and Taschereau Boulevard runs through the city toward Longueuil.
Brossard lines up neighbourhood parks in every sector, bike paths that connect the whole South Shore, and the riverfront along Route 132. Mail Champlain and the DIX30 concentrate shops, restaurants and performance venues.
The city falls under the Centre de services scolaire Marie-Victorin for the French network and the Riverside School Board for the English one; the nearest hospital is Charles-Le Moyne, in Greenfield Park. Check the exact school catchment of the address before buying: it changes from one street to the next.
