What is open, what closed, how much, for whom: the table of renovation grants in Quebec in 2026, verified program by program on the official sites.
In September 2026, six renovation grants are open in Quebec: Rénoclimat (insulation, air sealing, doors and windows, ventilation; up to $20,000 per house and $40,000 per plex, plus a flood-adaptation stream from October 1), Hydro-Québec's LogisVert (heat pump $50 or $120 per 1,000 BTU/h, thermal storage up to $22,000, solar $1,000 per kW), RénoPlex in Montreal (1 to 5 units, up to 50% of the work), the Programme d'adaptation de domicile (up to $50,000, registrations reopened August 12, 2026), RénoRégion (up to $25,000 outside the large cities) and two federal tax credits (home accessibility $20,000 a year, multigenerational home $50,000). Three programs closed: Chauffez vert on March 31, 2026, the Canada Greener Homes Loan on October 1, 2025 and the federal oil-to-heat-pump program on July 31, 2026. Grants combine on separate work; the costliest rule to forget is the Rénoclimat evaluation before work starts.

The general rule, written into Rénoclimat's conditions, is that you may apply to several programs "for separate types of work": Rénoclimat for insulation and windows, LogisVert for the heat pump and solar, RénoPlex for the roof or foundations in Montreal, the federal credit for the adapted bathroom. The same dollar of work is not subsidized twice, and Chauffez vert capped combined aid at 80% of eligible expenses. Order matters: Rénoclimat requires an energy evaluation before the work ($150 plus tax, refunded if aid is paid), LogisVert requires an application within nine months of installation by an RBQ-licensed contractor, RénoPlex requires the City's approval before starting (count 3 to 4 months), and tax credits are claimed on the return for the year of the expenses.
Grants do not make every job pay at resale. On the South Shore, insulation, windows and a heat pump show up in the price because the buyer sees them on the listing and on the Hydro bill; an adapted bathroom or a secondary unit sells to a specific clientele. For a person with a disability, the Programme d'adaptation de domicile (up to $50,000). For an energy retrofit, Rénoclimat ($20,000 per house, $40,000 per plex) and LogisVert ($22,000 for thermal storage with a central heat pump, more for geothermal).

Chauffez vert ended March 31, 2026 and the federal oil-to-heat-pump program closed registration July 31, 2026. LogisVert remains for the heat pump ($50 or $120 per 1,000 BTU/h) and, for modest-income households, Hydro-Québec's no-cost heat pump stream.
